Integration Detailing in Building Enclosures

Presenter:  Rick Weber, Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates

Mr. Weber joined WJE in 1988, and has investigated hundreds of structures across the United States. He has investigated various building problems, performed structural analyses, and designed repairs for commercial, institutional, and residential buildings. Most assignments have involved water leakage, deterioration, or collapse of exterior cladding and framing systems. Cladding systems investigated have included masonry, windows, curtain walls, skylights, terra cotta, GFRC, metal panels, and stucco.

Mr. Weber has performed and supervised the testing of exterior cladding components based on standards developed by ASTM International (ASTM), the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), as well as procedures developed for specific projects.

Mr. Weber has authored and co-authored several articles in professional publications related to water leakage testing, repair, and construction detailing. He is also a lecturer for the University of Wisconsin Department of Professional Development program on the structural design of masonry.
