Presenter: John Sturdevant, Heitmann & Associates, Inc.

John Sturdevant is Vice President of Architecture at Heitmann & Associates. Fulfilling many roles at Heitmann, John has 27 years of experience with enclosure issues, including authoring articles appearing in industry publications.

Mr. Sturdevant's expertise with window, skylight and exterior wall/cladding of buildings includes design consultation and development, specification writing, laboratory and field testing, submittal evaluation, inspection of new construction, analysis of problems of existing buildings, development of remedial programs and legal evaluation and testimony.

Description:                                                                                     Mr. Sturdevant's presentation will focus primarily on the key principles to be aware of while designing curtain walls. His presentation will touch on the most common mistakes made in contract documents when detailing curtain wall assemblies, the most common mistakes made in shop drawings for curtain wall assemblies, and the most common errors made on the jobsite in regard to curtain wall installation. John will also talk briefly about emerging trends in exterior wall assemblies.
